Bursaries

The 2010-11 bursary forms will be available from the school office in January 2010 or you can downloaded here. The Board of Governors has in the past allocated approximately 100 bursaries for students of families requiring financial assistance. The bursaries range from $1,000 to 5,000 per student. All students, who are presently receiving bursaries, will automatically be mailed a bursary form. Other interested families may pick up a bursary form from the senior school office.

The deadline for these applications is February 26th, 2010. They should be returned to the senior school office, marked for the attention of Mary Hazlewood. All bursary applicants will be notified of the Financial Aid Committees decision by letter by April 30, 2010.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary Hazlewood mhazlewood@warwickacad.bm or by phone 239-9455.

school awards

There are four scholarships available annually to Year 7 students: 2 internal and 2 external merit based Governors' Scholarships, worth $8,000 each per year for five years, to be awarded to candidates based primarily on their performance in the school's entrance / scholarship examination.

The external Governors' Scholarships are intended for the 2 highest scoring candidates who have been studying in the public school system in Bermuda for at least 3 years, whilst the internal Governor's Scholarships will be awarded to the 2 highest scoring Year 6 students, who entered Warwick Academy no later than the beginning of Year 5.

family awards

The Awards will be available to two students entering Year 1 and two students entering Year 7. The application forms are available from the school office or you can download here

Year 1 Awards
The award for the two students entering Year 1 is $8,000 per year for 6 years.

Year 7 Awards
The award for the two students entering Year 7 is $8,000 per year for 3 years. The recipients of this award will be selected from our external applicants.

The intention of the Walter Sharpe Family Awards is to provide assistance to families who could not otherwise afford to send their child to Warwick Academy. Applicants will need to have been born in Bermuda and recipients will be chosen based on their entrance scores, an interview and other criteria. Recipients will be required to re-qualify each year to demonstrate that they continue to meet the high academic performance standards and the other criteria upon which the awards were based.
