This term the Warwick Academy Alumni Association (“Keeping the Spirit”) continued enthusiastically with its informal career presentations to the 6th Form I.B. students (Years 12 and 13), organised by Juliana (Horseman) Snelling - Class of 1984.
The students have listened to a wide variety of professionals presenting to the students in a very informal and practical way so as to educate them about life in a job and the educational twists and turns it took to get there, what they might have done differently and what they did right! Careers being presented this term include: journalism, law, real estate, hedge funds and investment management, computers and computer trading, social work and probation services and insurance. All of the presenters were very genuine in delivering the information about their work, but also in their personal paths to where they are now, and the students saw that and appreciated the candor.
If anyone would like to help give back to the school and our youth by coming to chat with the graduating classes about a life in their career (any career including trades, sciences, medicine, ) the WAA would really appreciate it and you should contact Juliana at jsnelling@mjm.bm or
294 3627. We are always looking for new and different types of speakers to give the students a broad perspective on what opportunities are out there for them.
