The curriculum at Warwick Academy follows the UK National Curriculum. Warwick Academy is committed to providing a curriculum that promotes an enjoyment and commitment to learning, stimulating the best possible progress and the highest attainment for all students. The National Curriculum builds on students' strengths, interests and experiences and develops their confidence in their capacity to learn and work independently and collaboratively. Central to this is the development of literacy, numeracy and information and communication technology skills, and developing students’ ability to think critically and rationally.
Warwick Academy also recognises the importance of nurturing a student’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and, in particular, develops principles for distinguishing between right and wrong. Warwick Academy is committed to providing a demanding and challenging curriculum that develops an appreciation of their own and different beliefs and cultures, and how these influence individuals and societies. The curriculum at Warwick Academy will allow students to respond positively to opportunities, challenges and responsibilities, whether it is here in Bermuda or in the global employment market.
In Years 7, 8 and 9 a broad selection of subjects are studied building on the foundations laid down in the Primary school. This allows students to experience many subjects prior to having to make decisions on course choices both for I/GCSE and the International Baccalaureate and make informed decisions about what subjects they are best suited to.
As students progress through the school they select the subjects that interest them most and that are required for future careers. Warwick Academy ensures that students always maintain a balanced selection of subjects to keep opportunities open and ensure flexibility in career and college choices as they move through the school.
